On April 8, 2019, University of Wisconsin – La Crosse hosted a Sports Club banquet to recap the successful 2018-2019 season. Several members of the Waterski & Wakeboard Team attended to enjoy some complementary food, socialize with fellow UWL clubs, recognize those who had successful seasons, and hopefully receive an award or two!
The first award presented was the Team of the Year Award, for a all round hardworking, driven, unified group on and off the field, or water in this case since we were the award recipients! We were extremely surprised, thus humble and proud to receive this award and of the group of skiers we had this year.
It was not long after Team of the Year that they spoke on behalf of Athlete of the Year. The school created a Sport Club All-Star team from the short list of people who were all nominated for Athlete of the Year. We were fortunate to have two Ski-gles (Hunter Duffy and Evan Marcus) nominated for Athlete of the Year, therefore receiving awards for Sports Club All-Star Team. We could not be happier with the awards we received!
