Scott Greenwood entered the world of collegiate waterskiing when he joined the Northeastern Louisiana University Water Ski team, now known as University of Louisiana Monroe, in the 1980s. When he first joined, he was not known as the best water skier on the very competitive team, but he worked hard to earn a spot. He then competed in multiple NCWSA National Championships, even winning a few!
His career in the NCWSA did not end at graduation, however. After beginning his career and starting his family, he returned to the scene in the late 2000s, this time as a driver. His talent behind the wheel was quickly realized. He took pride in helping the highest level of water skiers achieve their goals on a national stage. He has driven in five NCWSA National Championships, multiple All-Star Tournaments, and countless regional NCWSA tournaments. He has also been behind the wheel while five skiers posted new NCWSA jump records.
His skill did not go unrecognized as he received the Bill Stevenson Outstanding Driver Award in 2013, 2016, and 2018. While these are very impressive, it is Greenwood’s attitude which sets him apart, he is always there to push people to their best and has made great strides in the advancement of collegiate water skiing.
