194 Feet to Glory: Zack Worden’s Path to the NCWSA Hall of Fame

The NCWSA Hall of Fame is reserved for those special individuals who have embodied the passion and drive of water skiing. As a University of Louisiana Monroe skier, Zack Worden was already competing amongst the best. In his opening season, he finished 2nd in slalom (1 @ 39 off) at the 2009 NCWSA nationals. He went on to continue to dominate in nationals, finishing his collegiate career with a bang, winning the national title for men’s jumping at 194 feet and the overall title with 1,640.0 points in his final season in 2011.

After college, Worden continued to chase his dream of being a pro jumper. Focusing his career solely on jump, he signed with Nautique and became a U.S. Open Jump champion. By 2020, Zack had more than 20 podium finishes and five professional wins. Making him a top contender for Hall of Fame nominations.

Worden was inducted into the NCWSA Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2023, alongside Scott Greenwood, Kelvin Kelm, Jeff Surdej, and the late Dr. Tom Strong. He continues to be an inspiration for collegiate athletes, and is a strong supporter of athletes at any age and skill level. He continues to give back to the skiing community, and has shared his knowledge through speaking at multiple collegiate regional conferences.
