San Diego State Skiers Set Guinness World Records Behind Blimp

SDSU Team Members, Kari McCollum and Cole Dohmann, Set Guinness World Records!

On Tuesday March 13th Kari and Cole set out to break some Guinness World Records. Kari McCollum and Cole Dohmann set the records of longest distance water skied and wakeboarded while being towed by a blimp. Kari broke the record on her jump skis. She skied a total distance of 6.9 miles. Cole set the record on his wakeboard. Several other collegiate skiers were on site to support their teammates, in addition to the San Diego State support crew, University of California, Los Angeles alumnus Kirk Lee is also featured in the promotional video as he sends a text while water skiing behind the blimp. The event was organized as a promotion for T-Mobile and Samsung for the release of the new Galaxy s9.

I skied collegiately at Marquette and in 2009 I received the NCWSA Outstanding Leader Award. I was NCWSA Operations Committee Chair for 7 years, and the NCWSA Secretary for 8 years.
