A few weeks ago the NCWSA Eastern Region held a winter meeting and it held regional board elections. We are proud to introduce the new Eastern Region Chair, Paul O’Hara. Let’s get to know a little about Paul as he is transitioning from Vice Chair to Chair of the Eastern Region.
Paul O’Hara
Who are you?
My name is Paul O’Hara. I graduated from The University of Alabama in 2015. When I’m not traveling for work, I’m living and skiing (not enough) in Orlando, FL.
Why did you run for Eastern Chair?
I attribute some of the best experiences I’ve had, the people I’ve met, and places I’ve visited in my life to water skiing being a large part of it. Collegiate skiing was a time in my life that made each of those things even more incredible. I have a huge passion for making sure as many student athletes as possible can enjoy the same experience that I did.
What is one big future goal you hope to accomplish by taking on this board position?
I would like to see two things happen in the East. The first is simply getting more collegiate skiers on the water. We want to grow the sizes of our teams, but more importantly we want to see more colleges affiliated with the NCWSA over the next two years. Secondly, we would like to get more collegiate skiers involved with helping to run tournaments. It takes a dedicated group of people to run tournaments year after year, so we want to make sure there are opportunities for students to step up and be a part of it.
If you have any ideas on how we can improve, don’t hesitate to reach out!
Congratulations Paul!
