Southern & Atlantic Coastal Region
Skiers from the Southern & Atlantic Coastal Region took their week long break to do a fair share of traveling! Some traveled internationally and others stayed within the U.S. for their own athletic adventures
European Travelers
Moomba Masters
University of Alabama skiers Mariah Fields and Anna Gay traveled to Victoria, Austraila to compete in the Moomba Masters. Congratulations ladies on the great skiing!
Tigers Roaming in Europe
Skiers Mario Krussig, Ethan Veideman, and Emily Scircle from the Clemson Water Ski Team traveled over to Europe to explore and catch up with a fellow teammate currently on a Study Abroad in Lyon: Mary Veideman
Mary Veideman took her own spring break recently to Greece, Barcelona, and ending in Rome at St. Peter’s Basilica for Easter Sunday Mass.
Traveling Across the U.S
Moab, Utah
Libby Burroughs, Auburn University skier, spent a day hiking at the Arches National Park, the next day mountain biking at Canyonlands Nationals Park, and on her last day went off-roading in a UTV in addition to running a 5 mile race!
The Florida Keys to West Palm Beach to Tampa to Ichetucknee
A group of Clemson Water Skiers did their yearly Florida wide road trip! They started with going down to Florida Keys with the Steffensen Family. Traveled to West Palm Beach, FL for some night skiing with the Stevens Family at Okeeheelee. They continued on to Tampa, FL to go skiing with a recruit. To finish off their Spring Break they went on their third annual camping, tubing down a river, and a 14 mile canoeing/kayaking trip in Ichetucknee, FL (aka the middle of no where). Thank you to all the families who hosted the Clemson Team on their Florida Adventure!
Destin, Florida
Mark Hanna, Lindsey Elrod, Lexi Skalitzky, and Thomas Brunner (Auburn University skiers) traveled down to the Destin, FL area to soak up some of the Florida sun!
Notasulga, Alabama
Auburn University skier, Emily Sampson, turned her break into a learning experience as she job shadowed an agriculture teacher for her major in Notasulga, AL.
South Central Region
Skiing: Snow or Water?
Many of the Texas A&M University skiers took advantage of the last few snowfalls across North America. While others were ready for summer to come around already and stuck with the water side of skiing.
Big White in Kelowna, B.C.
This spring break I went snow skiing in Canada at a resort called Big White. They were in a low year of snow but it was still more than I had ever seen. We skied for 6 days, and were exhausted by the end!
Krista Butterfield (Texas A&M)
I’m always skiing, if I’m not on a lake I’m on a mountain. This Spring Break I had the pleasure of going to Big White Ski Resort in Kelowna, B.C. to enjoy some fresh powder and escape the Texas heat for a week. I was in awe by the pure beauty Canada had to offer as soon as I stepped out of the plane. If you ever have the chance to ski in Canada water or snow I highly recommend making a trip.

Steamboat Springs in Colorado
Rachel Gawlik and Cullen Parker traveled to Steamboat, Colorado for 6 days of skiing in March. They were blessed with insanely good conditions and record snowfall (the most snow locals have seen in 40 years!). They had a fantastic time, but after 6 days of snow skiing they were ready to get back to Texas and get back on the water to ski with the rest of their team.
Polar Bear Classic Traditions
For Spring Break I went home to Columbia, MO and attended the Missouri Water Ski Federation meeting to catch up with skiers back home and to get my input in on skiing in Missouri this summer. Also, I spent a couple days making trophies for the Polar Bear Classic in my wood shop in order to bring back an old tradition from the 70s.
