Molly Voska & Michael Newth

Introducing Your New NCWSA Committee Chairs

The Marketing Chair of the Marketing & Membership Committee and the Operations Committee Chair were vacated at the NCWSA meeting in January. We put out the call for new chairs, and now we have two outstanding individuals to take over! So let’s meet the new chairs:

Operations Chair – Michael Newth

Michael NewthWho are you?

I found collegiate water skiing my freshman year of college at Kansas State, and I’ve been involved ever since. I have helped out in the Midwest over the years in both official and non-official capacities, and I recently migrated to Florida to work at USA Water Ski!

Why did you decide to take on Operations Chair?

I’m excited about the opportunity to work with the NCWSA Board to help grow the sport that’s given so much to me already. The rules changes we’ve been making in recent years seem like a great place to have a solid impact on where the future of the NCWSA goes. In my position, I hope to continue to help frame how we look at future rules changes, and smoothly enact more rules with will enable more skiers to get hooked on water skiing.

What is your one big idea or goal?

Less of an idea and more of a goal: my plan is to help facilitate all of the growth and ideas that are working within the NCWSA board.

It is definitely hard to hype up Operations Chair, some of the best ideas just occur in your thinking place (wherever that may be) and are dumbfoundingly amazing, while others can be a bit of a slog. No matter what ideas come up, we are sure Michael will be amazing in his new role as Operations Chair.

Marketing Chair – Molly Voska

Molly VoskaWho are you?

I’m a U.S. loving international adventurer who enjoys cheesy jokes and anything on the water.

Molly is also a proud member of the Western Michigan University water ski team and will be graduating this semester.

Why did you decide to take on Marketing Chair?

I am so thankful to have found Collegiate water skiing, but easily could have missed out. I want to shout to the mountain tops that Collegiate waterski is the best college decision one could make.

What is your one big idea or goal?

I want to reach out to marina, big and small, show ski teams, and any company that provides gear for water sports to let them know that there is a world of water lovers out here, and have them help promote to their customers. Also, I want to spread awareness [of the NCWSA] so no skier leaves college without joining a team.

Molly will be working directly with Erin Slater who is co-chair of the committee, Erin is the Membership Chair of the Marketing & Membership Committee. To grow membership, spreading awareness within universities and to students prior to getting to University is essential. We are happy to have Erin and Molly working together with their committee to put systems in place to help grow our sport!
