We love when our teams send in their activities and accomplishments from off the water! While we would love to ski all year round (jealous of Floridians), we have to do something in the off season to occupy all that free time! Some of our teams decided they wanted to donate their off-season time to giving back to their community.
The Milwaukee Water Ski Club volunteered at a gymnastic competition, the Alabama Water Ski Team took time out of their day to help at a local ministry, and the Auburn Water Ski Team did some work around Storybook Farms. Read below to see what they did while they volunteered, some funny stores, and why they choose their respective event/organization to donate their time to.
Milwaukee Water Ski Club Helps Out at a Gymnastics Event!
The Milwaukee Water Ski Club members took time out of their day to volunteer at the Iron Town Harley Gymnastics Invite on February 10th, 2019. The team assisted with tearing down the Wisconsin Center’s main hall. This included loading semi-van trailers with floor mats and padding, packing awards and stage components, and disassembling various A/V systems.
We are wondering where the photos are from when the Milwaukee Water Ski members showed off their gymnastic skills?!
The Milwaukee Waterski Club is proud to have such a great relationship with the event hosted at the Wisconsin Center annually in downtown Milwaukee.

The Alabama Water Ski Team Brightening People’s Days
The Alabama Water Ski Team had the opportunity to help out at a local ministry called S.D. Allen Missions. The ministry was created to fill the needs of Tuscaloosa’s community by providing beds and furniture to those who cannot afford them. During their volunteer day, they delivered beds to different families who had been sleeping on the floor.
This could double as some off-season training!
It was heart warming to see the reactions of the little kids who received a place to sleep.

Auburn, You Got a Little Paint on Yourself
The Auburn Water Ski Team volunteered at Storybook Farms on January 26th, 2019 in Opelika, Alabama. They painted fences, cleaned pastures, and cleaned the horses’ stalls.
The Auburn Water Ski Team choose the Storybook Farms as they are known for helping disabled kids horseback ride and offering them lessons. Storybook Farms truly displays what the “Auburn Family” is all about, so the Auburn Water Ski Team wanted to give a little back to such a great organization.
Every year when we volunteer here it reminds us to be grateful for the opportunities we have been given. It shows us that as a team there’s nothing we can’t accomplish or do.

We asked if there were any funny moments, the Auburn Water Ski Team did not disappoint as two of their team members took the L. These members started to clean the paint, but ended up making a bigger mess! When pulling the paint rollers off the wand they got the paint all over themselves, usually this doesn’t matter as paint washes off. Unfortunately for these two members, the paint was specifically for fences and was water resistance. It took them literally hours and bottles of acetone to get the paint off their hands.
