Clemson Waterski Announces its 2017 Commits!

After lots of hard work from our Officers, a fantastic Fall Recruiting Weekend, and some great tournaments, the Clemson Ski Team (Facebook | Instagram) is psyched to introduce their incoming 2017 Commits! They are: Nellie Roberts, Alec Ancevic, Jake Breland, Kate Sullivan, and Lauren Linton. Here’s a little bit about each one of them:

CU Ski Commit: Nellie Roberts

Nellie Roberts - 2017 Clemson Water Ski CommitNellie Roberts is a Clemson Ski commit starting in the Fall of 2017. She is from a small town in southern Illinois and has grown up skiing ever since she was three years old. She is a 3-event skier. Some of her ski partners include her younger brothers and her neighbors. Next year at Clemson, she will be studying Biological Sciences and will be in the Calhoun Honors College.

 

Alec Ancevic - 2017 Clemson Water Ski CommitCU Ski Commit: Alec Ancevic

Alec Ancevic is a skier from Tega Cay, SC. He started skiing at 10 years old, when he got involved with the Carolina Show Ski Team. In addition to show skiing, Alec also 3-event skis and plays lacrosse. He plans on studying engineering next fall and can’t wait to be a Tiger!

 

CU Ski Commit: Jake Breland

Jake Breland - 2017 Clemson Waterski CommitJake Breland is a skier from Chapin, South Carolina. He has been skiing on Lake Murray since he was two years old and can’t wait to continue in college! Jake has done Slalom INT tournaments for a few years and is excited to keep it up at Clemson.  Go Tigers!

 

Lauren Linton - 2017 Clemson Waterski CommitCU Ski Commit: Lauren Linton

Lauren specializes in slalom, and is from Virginia. She says “I have been skiing as a new member at lake Chaney facing the bitter cold of April. Using a dry suit, the water isn’t as brutal. Can’t wait to ski with the team in the fall!!”

 

CU Ski Commit: Kate Sullivan

Kate Sullivan - 2017 Clemson Waterski CommitFrom Kate: “Hey y’all! My name is Kate Sullivan and I’m from Nashville, TN. I’ve grown up on a lake and first learned to ski when I was 8. I love free skiing, running the slalom course, and surfing after a long days work. I’m excited to be a tiger in the fall!”

 

We cannot wait to have all of our announced commits ski with us in the fall! CU Tigers then!

I am Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois Chicago. I earned my Ph.D. from the University of California, Riverside and Bachelor's and Masters from Marquette University. I skied collegiately at Marquette and in 2009 I received the NCWSA Outstanding Leader Award. I was NCWSA Operations Committee Chair for 7 years, and the NCWSA Secretary for 8 years.
