Remembering Gordon Hall: Collegiate Skier to Hall of Famer

In 2017 Gordon Hall was granted the title of Honorary National Director. In 2022 he was inducted into the NCWSA Hall of Fame in recognition of his years of dedicated service and his contributions that went above and beyond.

Gordon skied for the University of Texas and eventually became the South Central Region director/chairman (1978 – 1983). He helped to guide collegiate skiing from a regional collection of teams to a national force. In 1981 he had a bit of a hand in changing the organization’s name from NIBOD’s name to “National Collegiate Water Ski Association.”

Before his passing, Gordon had reamplified his involvement in the NCWSA as he became an HND in 2017. Over the decade prior to becoming an HND and the years after he was active as a judge and volunteer at many collegiate events including being the Chief Judge at the 2018 Collegiate Nationals in San Marcos.

Gordon was a champion of collegiate water skiing and all that it represents and put time and effort both early and late in life to make the sport we love as great as it possibly could be. Learn more about Gordon Hall’s involvement in the NCWSA over the decades by reading his HND article:
