2019 Bama Fall Throwdown

Saturday morning started bright and early as teams from the University of Alabama, Clemson University, Lander University, University of Georgia, and Auburn University joined to start the 2019 Bama Throwdown at Lymanland in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. This tournament was full of fresh faces and all skill levels. All of the teams were excited to get time on the water and enjoy the weekend together as the Southern and Atlantic Coastal Region.

Men’s Slalom Results:

Sean Hunter, of the University of Alabama, took in 3 buoys at 39.5 off. He was attempting to break the SAC Record which is currently in a tie at 3@41off between KC Wilson and Cole McCormick both from Florida Southern College. We may see this record broken in a future tournament this year! James Webber of Clemson University came to a close second with 2 buoys at 38 off. Dylan Smith of Alabama rounded up to the podium with 4.5 buoys at 35 off.

Women’s Slalom Result:

The University of Alabama’s ski team came out strong with Brooke Baldwin taking the Women’s team to the lead with 1 buoy at 39.5 off, she was followed closely by her teammates from Alabama. Anna Gay, Taylor Grathwohl, Geneva Roach, and Abbi Grathwohl rounded out the top 5. Brooke was also attempting to break the SAC Record which is tied with the NCWSA Record. The SAC record is currently held by Samantha Dumala with 3 buoys at 39.5 off from Florida Southern.
