Welcome back and welcome new skiers! We hope you Rush SKI this fall.
The excitement is building as teams grow ahead of the first competitions for the season.
After a fantastic summer of skiing, we look forward to seeing you in your school bibs.
Recruitment
We love to see new skiers! Bring in new members by participating in welcome week activities on campus, bringing your boat to the quad, flyer-ing, chalking, and table-ing. Be sure to check school guidelines before littering the campus with your name.
- You may be able to volunteer on-campus for move-in or football games to meet new students and let them know about our fantastic sport.

Reminders
USA-WS Personal Membership
Every member of your team must be a member of USA Water Ski. USA Water Ski is the governing body of water skiing in the United States. Their job is to provide members the resources to compete. By being a member, your skiers receive insurance, issues of Water Skier magazine, hotel/travel discounts and access to a wide variety of water ski information.
- Skiers need to sign up for an under 25 active membership for $4 a year. They need to indicate NCWSA as their sports discipline and list their team as their affiliated club. This fee allows them to compete in an unlimited number of tournaments throughout the year.
- You can sign up for USA Water Ski by going to https://www.usawaterski.org/renew/ or by calling 863-324-4341, ask for the Membership Department.
USA-WS Team Membership
Your team should also sign up for a club membership, which is $75 a year. This membership gives your team the insurance coverage to run practices and compete in tournaments.
- For schools that have liability concerns this membership legitimacies the team and acts as an additional cushion for insurance and liability.
Eligibility & Good standings
Students must be enrolled in 12+ credits at your school to be considered full time students, with a GPA over 2.0 for eligibility.
- Incoming students will have a N/A GPA until grades are posted.
- Graduating seniors in their final semester can be considered for eligibility with fewer credits.
Stay in good standings with your school by providing safe practice standards, certified drivers and safety officers, and volunteering with the Club Sports Council. This can help you get additional funding!
Competition Ready
Athletes leaving the dock must have their school name on over their waterski equipment ((IE: Bib, penny, your only dry sweatshirt). Team jumpsuits do not count.

- Not to fret! We want you to learn and grow in the sport. Ask your teammates for help, or ask for coaching from other skiers and officials at the tournament. What to expect
You can expect 4 years of swerving, spraying, high-flying adventure, nation-wide friendships, and lots of time on the water. There is no explaining the #NCWSASpirit in words, so we’ll defer to HO’s 2022 recap video as your study guide.
