We celebrated National Girls and Women In Sports Day on Wednesday February 6, 2019 promoting two hashtags for the day #WomenWhoSki and #NationalWomenInSportsDay. #WomenWhoSki is dominated by snow skiing pictures, but that did not deter us we took the hashtag back for those of us that ski on liquid water for at least one day!

What are we celebrating?
On the 33rd Annual National Girls & Women in Sports Day (NGWSD), we took the day to celebrate women’s achievements in sports and remind us what we are capable of.
Participation, Participation, Participation!
17 teams took part in spreading the love for #WomenWhoSki! Many individuals, along with some teams and regions, also took a moment to reflect on the women that inspired them as we all celebrated National Girls and Women In Sports Day!
Thanks for celebrating
Thank you to the 28 Instagrammers who submitted by using the hashtag, and tagging @theNCWSA. As an organization, we love seeing the support, comradery, inspiration, and gratefulness in the posts. We take this time as well to say thank you to all our female coaches, officials, board members, alumni, skiers, and champions for all you do to elevate and grow our sport.
Looking to recruit & retain more female skiers for your team? Try these tips!
- Use the women on your team to draw in other women – otherwise, students may not know you’re a co-ed team! Highlight your women’s team at recruitment fairs, on flyers, and on social media.
- Build an inclusive & supportive team providing opportunities on and off the water for all.
