2026 Officer Elections: Call for Applications

Upcoming NCWSA Board of Directors officer elections will take place during the annual NCWSA Board of Directors meeting. For 2026 these elections include NCWSA Vice Chair, NCWSA Webmaster, NCWSA Treasurer, and NCWSA Secretary.

The Vice Chair is elected to an 2 year term. The Webmaster(elected or contracted),Treasurer, and Secretary are elected for a 1 year term.

NCWSA Officer Applications should be sent to chair@thencwsa.org

Interested non-incumbent parties should submit the following:

  • a PDF of their resume
  • a PDF statement of interest
  • contact information for two references.

Deadline for Interested Parties

The deadline for paperwork submission is January 19th, 2026 at 11:59pm PST to be considered in the absentee ballot. Floor nominations can be made by a representative during the meeting on January 30th, 2026. We prefer to have statements of interest and resumes on hand prior to the meeting to allow all voting members to read about each candidate prior to the election that occurs during the annual meeting.

Candidates interested to attend the winter meeting, if not currently serving on the board, can send their request in with their resume and/or letter to be approved by the BOD.

Statement of Interest

The one page statement of interest letter should open with stating the position you wish to run for. The remainder of the letter should outline your interests, motivations, and plans as related to the position.

Additional Requirements for Chair & Vice Chair

Full requirements are outlined in the NCWSA Bylaws but are summarized below.

Mandatory Qualifications

Candidates for Board membership must possess:

  1. ​U. S. Citizenship
  2. ​Current valid USA-WSWS membership.

In addition, they must meet at least two (2) of the following qualifications:

  1. ​Previous membership on the NCWSA Board of Directors.
  2. ​Membership on a NCWSA Region Board.
  3. ​Current rated AWSA judge, scorer or boat driver; or past or present collegiate skier.
  4. ​Approval of their Region Board or NCWSA AAC.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to the mandatory qualifications, the following background factors are to be considered as desirable for Board membership, and are to serve as guidelines for regional elections: 

  1. ​Ability to travel and attend NCWSA Board meetings is a must.
  2. ​Good knowledge of the functions of NCWSA.
  3. Good organizational background.
  4. Good character and personality traits. 
  5. ​Ability to communicate well.
  6. ​Active in the sport of water skiing in some capacity on the collegiate level.

Nomination for the Ballot

If a specific member present at the annual meeting does not nominate you on to the ballot, the NCWSA Chair will nominate all individuals who submit both their resume and statement of interest.
