About the Team
Our club welcomes all water skiers and wakeboarders looking to have fun and improve their skills. We ski in multiple tournaments every year against other collegiate water ski teams as a part of the NCWSA, and enjoy practicing at the beautiful lakes Appalachia has to offer. Whether you have never been on a boat or you are an advanced skier, we can promise a fun and rewarding time. Our season runs through August to mid-October. Our team is a 100% student lead, tight-knit group of WVU students passionate about water sports, many of whom learned the sport for the first time through our team.

Notable Team Moments
The West Virginia University Water Ski Club was officially founded in Fall 2017, with its roots going back to Fall 2016 when a group of students began skiing unofficially at Deep Creek, Maryland. The club attended its first official tournament in Fall 2018 at Pleasant Shores Lake in Van Wert, Ohio. Since then, the team has steadily grown each season, establishing regular practices, competing in tournaments primarily within the Midwest Conference, and expanding into the Southern Atlantic Conference in fall of 2023. We now predominantly compete in the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) which is the one we are officially part of. Currently, the club remains relatively small but active and steadily growing. We maintain a consistent core of dedicated skiers who regularly participate in practices, tournaments, and community service each year. Our team is currently around 35 members but is expected to grow this year with ambitions to attend Nationals.
