Upcoming NCWSA Board of Directors officer elections will take place during the annual NCWSA Board of Directors meeting. For 2023 these elections include NCWSA Chair, NCWSA Vice Chair, NCWSA Treasurer, and NCWSA Secretary.
The Chair and Vice Chair are elected to a 2-year term and the Treasurer and Secretary elected for a 1-year term.

Interested non-incumbent parties should submit the following:
- a PDF of their resume
- a PDF statement of interest
- contact information for two references.
Deadline for Interested Parties
The deadline for paperwork submission is January 21st, 2024 at 11:59pm PST. The official deadline for inclusion in the election occurs during the meeting on January 26th, 2024. We prefer to have statements of interest and resumes on hand prior to the meeting to allow all voting members to read about each candidate prior to the election that occurs during the annual meeting.
Candidates interested to attend the winter meeting, if not currently serving on the board, will need to request in advance so they can be voted to sit in the meeting as a silent guest.
Statement of Interest
The one page statement of interest letter should open with stating the position you wish to run for. The remainder of the letter should outline your interests, motivations, and plans as related to the position.

Full requirements are outlined in the NCWSA Bylaws but are summarized below.
Mandatory Qualifications
Candidates for Board membership must possess:
- U. S. Citizenship
- Current valid USA-WSWS membership.
In addition, they must meet at least two (2) of the following qualifications:
- Previous membership on the NCWSA Board of Directors.
- Membership on a NCWSA Region Board.
- Current rated AWSA judge, scorer or boat driver; or past or present collegiate skier.
- Approval of their Region Board or NCWSA AAC.
Desirable Qualifications
In addition to the mandatory qualifications, the following background factors are to be considered as desirable for Board membership, and are to serve as guidelines for regional elections:
- Ability to travel and attend NCWSA Board meetings is a must.
- Good knowledge of the functions of NCWSA.
- Good organizational background.
- Good character and personality traits.
- Ability to communicate well.
- Active in the sport of water skiing in some capacity on the collegiate level.

Nomination for the Ballot
If a specific member present at the annual meeting does not nominate you on to the ballot, the NCWSA Chairperson will nominate all individuals who submit both their resume and statement of interest.
